THE NEA @ THE BPL : CATALINA TUCA

this thing is red

RECEPTION

JUNE 29, 2019

3 - 5 PM

SARATOGA BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY BRANCH

As a participating member of the NEA (Network of Extraordinary Artists) Catalina Tuca presents an installation inside of the GALLERY 2.0 of an ongoing project this thing is red. Inside the GALLERY Tuca has created a recording booth in which she invites visitors to enter and describe an object in the GALLERY through an interview. After recording the descriptions, she then sends the audio recordings to 3D designers who are outsourced to interpret the recordings as 3D renderings. These virtual interpretations will be featured on Instagram, an online archive, and in future video installations.

Tuca will facilitate interviews:

Saturday June 15th 12-5pm

Tuesday June 18th 6-8pm

Tuesday June 25th 6-8pm

Saturday June 29th 12-5pm

Join us for the reception for the exhibition and the culmination of the installation of the GALLERY 2.0 at the Saratoga Brooklyn Public Library Branch – made possible by the generous support of the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Brooklyn Public Library, which awarded Nathan Sinai Rayman (GALLERY CUBED Founder and Director) an Artists on Site residency.
